The Hatnote template is used to place a short navigation note at the very top of an article or section. It is typically used to point readers to disambiguation pages or other highly related articles if they arrived at the current page by mistake.

To use this template, simply place it at the top of an article (below the short description but above the infobox and the lead section) and provide the text as the first unnamed parameter.

{{Hatnote|Your text goes here.}}

Styling

[edit source]

This template uses inline CSS to mimic the standard Wikipedia hatnote style:

  • font-style: italic; to italicize the text.
  • padding-left: 1.6em; to provide a slight indentation.
  • font-size: 90%; to make it slightly smaller than the main article body text.
