Mippedia is a multilingual general online encyclopedia containing articles in Indonesian and English covering various knowledge topics. Created on December 5, 2025, with its initial project being a dedicated Indonesian-language encyclopedia called Indonesian Mippedia, it was conceived by Rumi Haitami and is operated by the Mippedia Community, a community organization.[1][2]

As an encyclopedia, Mippedia serves as an initial reference tool for knowledge in an article format. The presented articles aim to provide a basic understanding of a topic or subject, without being intended to replace primary sources, scholarly publications, or other official documents.

Rumi Haitami, founder of Mippedia

Mippedia was first created in 2025, with its initial project being a dedicated encyclopedia in the Indonesian language named Indonesian Mippedia on December 5, 2025, followed by a dedicated encyclopedia project in the English language named English Mippedia on January 13, 2026, as an independent online encyclopedia project. This initiative was conceived by a musician named Rumi Haitami with the goal of building a structured platform for general knowledge that can be developed sustainably. Since the beginning of its development, Mippedia has been directed as a general encyclopedia that does not focus on a single specific field, but rather encompasses various aspects of knowledge relevant to readers from diverse backgrounds.

Coverage

Articles on Mippedia are organized thematically and interconnected via internal links. Each article stands as an independent unit of information, with a structure that generally includes an introduction, main body, and supporting context. The compilation of articles follows encyclopedic writing conventions, prioritizing the use of formal language, coherent presentation, and the avoidance of personal opinions or promotional content.

Review

To maintain order and content suitability, Mippedia applies a review and curation process to available articles. This process aims to ensure that articles remain relevant as general knowledge, are structured in an encyclopedic writing style, and contain no promotional elements, excessive speculation, or unsubstantiated claims. Curation is conducted as a quality control effort, not as the establishment of absolute truth. Information available may be reviewed whenever new data, additional sources, or evaluations of article content arise.

Development

Mippedia is developed as a multilingual encyclopedia. Each language version is compiled and managed separately, adapting to the respective language context and reader needs. Articles in one language do not always have a direct equivalent in another, as content development can proceed independently according to source availability and writing focus.

Limitations

As an evolving online encyclopedia, Mippedia has limitations regarding the completeness and accuracy of its information. Articles available on Mippedia may contain shortcomings, errors, or require further updates. Readers are advised to use Mippedia as initial general information rather than a final decision, and to consider additional references when necessary for academic, professional, or decision-making purposes.
